Safer Internet Day

On February 6th we took part in 'Safer Internet Day'. This EU wide initiative takes place annually to promote a safer internet for all users, especially young people.  Students took part in activities and debates focused on various aspects of web safety including password protection, online interactions, extortion and cyberbullying.

In preparation for the day our students composed an online pledge stating their commitment to stopping and preventing cyberbullying, students and teachers were all encouraged to sign the petition and we were then encouraged to share the pledge as widely as possible. Transition Year Students Awarded Irish & European National Quality Label for eTwinning

Last years Transition Year students took part in an etwinning project in collaboration with schools from France, The Netherlands and Poland. Our project was called Nosy Neighbours and the aim was to find out information about the other countries. We did this by working in both national and international groups through our online platform 'Twinspace' and the end product was a radio bulletin based on the information we had gathered.
For this project we were awarded the Irish National Quality Label and the European National Quality Label.
